Reviewer Guidelines
Introduction
To ensure that readers have free access to valuable scientific research, Ibn Sina University Journal (ISUJ) was established as an Open Access journal. All content published in ISUJ adheres to the highest academic and ethical standards. The peer review process is designed to assess the originality, validity, and overall quality of manuscripts before final acceptance for publication.
Reviewers play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of academic publishing by preventing the dissemination of plagiarized, low-quality, or inappropriate work.
Role of the Reviewer
Peer review is essential for maintaining the quality and credibility of academic and scientific research. ISUJ fully supports the peer review process and greatly values the contributions reviewers make to the success of the journal.
Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in relevant fields. Depending on their level of contribution, reviewers may be invited to assume more prominent editorial responsibilities. Their primary task is to provide objective and constructive feedback on submitted manuscripts to ensure accuracy and high academic quality.
The Peer Review Process
-
The peer review process at ISUJ is double-blind: neither the authors nor the reviewers are aware of each other’s identity, contact details, or affiliations.
-
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two reviewers for originality, methodological rigor, and completeness.
-
Reviewers are expected to provide timely, detailed, and balanced feedback that will help both authors and the editorial team.
Important Guidelines for Reviewers
-
Quality Assessment: Reviewers should evaluate the overall quality, originality, and contribution of the manuscript to its field.
-
Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should offer suggestions and recommendations for improvement rather than simply editing or rewriting the text.
-
Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain strict confidentiality regarding all materials under review. They are not permitted to contact the author directly without the approval of the Editor-in-Chief.
-
Ethical Concerns: Any concerns regarding the ethics or conduct of authors or other reviewers should be reported directly to the Editor-in-Chief.
-
Impartiality: Decisions and recommendations must never be influenced by the author’s nationality, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or political views. The sole criteria for evaluation should be the accuracy, clarity, and scholarly value of the manuscript.
